LogOnce Launches Beta Version of Password Manager for iPhone, iPod Touch

After providing LogOnceToolbar as a free password manager for Internet Explorer, LogOnce is now aiming for the mobile market starting with the iPhone and iPod touch.
According to Sharon Salmon, CEO and founder of LogOnce, password management is about to become a critical need in the coming years.

"In the past, people primarily used only e-mail when surfing the Internet, and password managers were far away from the spotlight. Nowadays, with the Web-based services boom and Web 2.0 social networks, Internet account management is crying for a solution," says Salmon.

The solution LogOnce provides for the iPhone works in a synchronized fashion with LogOnce's toolbar, ensuring users can add more passwords on their PC and access them immediately for iPhones.

"It doesn't just show users the username and password, but actually fills in the form information, saving the need to type anything," Salmon said. "That is pretty helpful, especially in mobile devices such as iPhone where you want to avoid the keyboard as much as possible."

Another security feature of the LogOnce Password Manager: invulnerability to theft or loss.

"Unlike PCs, mobile devices are more likely to get lost or stolen," Salmon said. "LogOnce passwords are not stored on the iPhone, so there is no concern about personal data in the case of loss or theft."

LogOnce has plans to provide password management solutions for more browsers such as FireFox, Chrome and Safari -- as well as more PDA devices.

Innovative New Software Flags the End of Multilingual Workplace Training Woes

John Hill, Project Director of SpeechBubble said "...we set ourselves the task of promoting understanding across a wide spectrum of languages and literacy so we came up with the concept of using illustration and animation to offer visual stimulation and reinforcement. The resulting cartoon style has proved to be a breath of fresh air in a very traditional sector of the market, so we thought to ourselves, why should safety training be boring?"

Interest in the system has been received as far afield as Australia and the US and the company are considering distribution channel offers in these and other areas, in addition to alternative language support options.

...we set ourselves the task of promoting understanding across a wide spectrum of languages and literacy so we came up with the concept of using illustration and animation to offer visual stimulation and reinforcement. The resulting cartoon style has proved to be a breath of fresh air in a very traditional sector of the market, so we thought to ourselves, why should safety training be boring? The SpeechBubble developers have been delighted at the response the system has received and have already started planning topics for future releases. Also in development is an online multilingual translation portal which will allow users to submit training material to be presented in the required languages in the SpeechBubble system. The portal is expected to be of to appeal to a much wider spectrum of multilingual training needs than the topic driven products.

The simple system is just one small step in the right direction of harmonising workplace training regardless of ethnic origin or native tongues, but from the response to date, it's an overdue and welcome one.
