Non-developers to create powerful Web Applications

AUSTIN, Texas, Aug. 30, 2007 (ERN)- Software startup YadaShare LLC announced today the beta release of its software service that allows non-developers the ability to create powerful web applications.

When asked why he founded YadaShare in October 2006, Paul Henry stated, "We wanted to give businesses the option of building customized software solutions for a fraction of the cost of packaged software or custom development projects. We're certain that once people use our service they will immediately see the value in it."

Creating applications in YadaShare allows people to collaboratively work with data in a central location without the need to install software on individual user desktops or company servers. YadaShare abstracts the "techy" details of building software through its simple web interface. Henry said, "We want people to be as comfortable using YadaShare as they would their own email program."

YadaShare is one of many new companies using SaaS, Software as a Service, as a delivery model whereby applications are hosted and operated by the vendor, and used over the Internet for a monthly fee.

More information and the beta sign-up are available at http://www.yadashare.com.

New Software Offers Science-Based Approach to Keyboarding

LANCASTER, N.Y., Aug. 29, 2007 - Leading the charge for a new take on the decades-old approach to typing instruction is Knowledge-101, which has released its new Finger Mapping System (FMS) software, now available for download at CNET: http://tinyurl.com/2b2uj6.
The software is based on scientific studies of human learning and cognition. The patented FMS method - developed and tested at the State University of New York at Buffalo - improves users' hand-finger dexterity and leads to more efficient typing.
"Rote memorization isn't the way to teach the next generation how to use a keyboard in short order," said Joseph B. Delphonse, Knowledge-101's co-founder. "Innovation has made the keyboard an indispensable part of people's lives, and we really feel typing instruction should catch up with the latest science on learning."
Delphonse added that many software packages on the market today use teaching techniques that hinder the natural human-learning process. Conventional typing software often relies on memorization to overcome the mental and physical challenges a keyboard's layout poses for the hands, fingers and the brain.
Delphonse continued, "The problem with the conventional approach is that if an action is repeated, the total activation for that action would only increase over time. There's no possible way to restrict or hinder unwanted parallel interaction in the learned action. The ability to type the phrase 'quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog' at high proficiency level does not also mean one is able to type any other combination of those letters on the keyboard at such a level."
The method of the Finger Mapping System is based on a new architecture of the human cognitive system, organized in schemas with production operators, consisting of controlled-random conditions and actions (CRC -> A). The software uses a well-defined set of rules for hand-finger placement and lifting, along with a keyboard introduction. Users advance through specific and individual finger drills and lessons on three different levels - composed of primary, associative, strategic and random keys. While the FMS user types, the software analyzes the work and provides real feedback and guidance every minute.
A built-in threshold system identifies user progress and appropriates different finger lessons and levels. Every lesson includes a detailed report outlining strengths and weaknesses.
FMS helps both beginners and expert typists and is appropriate for all ages due to its scientific approach to hand-finger dexterity. Knowledge-101 plans to ultimately make the FMS system available in more languages.
"FMS is unlike any other keyboarding software on the market. If you are responsible for teaching keyboarding skills to children or adults, you need to check this out," concluded Richard Schreckengost, co-founder of Knowledge-101.

About Knowledge-101 Founded in 2006 by Joseph B. Delphonse and Richard Schreckengost and affiliated with Computer SOS, Knowledge-101 promotes technologies and develops instructional models for the typing keyboard. The company plans to develop keyboarding models for any keyboard or handheld device.

Award for Scientists

Bangalore, Aug 21 : Infosys Technologies and
Association for Computing Machinery have signed an agreement
to create a new annual award that recognises young scientists
and system developers whose contemporary innovations are
having a "dramatic impact" on the computing field.
The award, to be known as the ACM-Infosys Foundation
Award in the Computing Sciences, would seek candidates
globally and carry a prize of USD 150,000, an Infosys
statement said.
The first recipient would be announced as part of the ACM
awards programme in early 2008.
Instituted by Infosys through its philanthropic arm the
Infosys Foundation, the award joins the roster of ACM awards
that honour outstanding contributors to a range of computing
applications, including computer architecture, theory and
practice, education, humanitarian initiatives, software and
major technical advances of an enduring nature.
Infosys Technologies Chief Executive Officer S
Gopalakrishnan said Infosys wanted to work with ACM to
recognise major research contributions in a timely manner.
"We want to honor contemporary innovation to ensure that
the award goes to younger individuals whose scientific
contributions in the computing sciences are significantly
impacting the field", he said.
"Our goal is to identify breakthroughs that have broad
implications well beyond the scope of the innovation itself,
and that reflect an underlying scientific or engineering
methodology that is remarkable for its rigour or for its sheer
audacity", Gopalakrishnan added.

New real-time, cross platform intelligent network monitoring system

jEnterprise is a real-time continuous network monitoring tool to prevent potential performance degradation or downtime. It provides intelligent troubleshooting and support for new protocols such as IPv6 to ensure coverage at all times and is the world's only cross platform enterprise level distributed network analysis and troubleshooting tool

Project Title: jEnterprise: An Enterprise Intelligent Network Monitoring and Troubleshooting Tool Based on Autonomous Self Managed Mobile Agent

Network and system administrators have turned to network monitoring and protection tools to ensure smooth operation of networks within the enterprise. Most organization has about 50 to 1000 computers and the numbers are growing.
Imagine one of the computers is flooding the network; the system administrator would then have to investigate each machine to find out which one is causing the problem by making desk-side visits. Such processes are cumbersome, inaccurate and in some cases, take days (even weeks) to pinpoint and solve the problem.
jEnterprise is a real-time, around-the-clock network monitoring tool that continuously monitor enterprise network to prevent potential performance degradation or downtime. It provides intelligent troubleshooting as well as support for new protocols that supports next generation network protocols such as IPv6 to ensure coverage at all times.
jEnterprise will be able to provide global access to remotely monitor any network on any corner of the world tunneling via the Internet. It offers complete monitoring from Physical Layer to Application Layer. The uniqueness of jEnterprise Suite as compared to other tools is that it not only provides a centralized visualization and analysis engine, called jCMC (Centralized Monitoring Console), it also provides an autonomous and intelligent self managed remote agents, called jRemote, to monitor and protect each remote network segment within the organization and a managed intelligent server, called jServer, to collect network data from jRemote agents and perform intelligent analysis. This interesting and unique distributed architecture creates a complete protected environment for the organizations servers, PC and the network.
j-Enterprise is also the world's only cross platform enterprise level distributed network analysis and troubleshooting tool.
