Byte Software Releases BytePro 3.1

Byte Software, a leading provider of software for banks, credit unions and mortgage brokers, has released version 3.1 of BytePro, its flagship loan origination software solution. The Enterprise edition of BytePro now features an optional custom screen designer, custom field calculations and an enhanced processing log. Both the Standard and Enterprise editions of version 3.1 contain the revised FHA upfront mortgage insurance premiums, updated FHA maximum mortgage calculations and new partner interfaces. The custom screen designer in BytePro 3.1 adds considerable power and flexibility to the BytePro solution by allowing organizations to create their own custom screens and enhance existing screens. An administrator uses an intuitive visual designer to create the custom screens which can contain virtually any field in the program including existing fields and user-definable custom fields. An unlimited number of custom screens can be created, and each one can contain any number of controls including labels, text boxes, drop-down lists, check boxes, pictures and command buttons. Complicated screens can be created by administrators with no programming experience, and advanced users can combine the power of the custom screen designer and the software development kit (SDK) to create extremely robust solutions based on custom coding.The custom screen designer can incorporate custom fields that are automatically calculated based on formulas similar to those found in popular spreadsheet programs. This permits the administrator to create custom screens for anything from commission tracking to secondary marketing. All calculated fields are updated automatically in real-time and can be included on management reports or custom documents. Not only can the custom screen designer be used to create brand new screens, it can also be used to add new functionality to existing screens. For instance, a company may wish to place the lead source at the top of the loan application in order to track the effectiveness of a marketing campaign. This allows the company to establish a process in which the loan originator completes the field as part of the natural work flow; the originator doesn't have to remember to go to a separate screen to fill in the information. If desired, the administrator can even require the originator to complete the field before leaving the screen. The Enterprise edition of version 3.1 also features an enhanced processing log that allows tracking of a wide variety of items and tasks including order outs, items needed from the borrower, underwriting conditions and even trailing documents. Each tracked item can have its own unique permissions so that, for example, a loan officer cannot alter underwriting conditions. Both the Standard and Enterprise editions have been fully updated to comply with the new FHA regulations regarding upfront mortgage insurance premiums and maximum loan amount calculations.
